CQ Scotland.com Group are planning a Building Event for the Young at the first Scottish Hamcon to be held in Glasgow on Sunday 7th May.

With the help of fellow radio amateurs, keen electronics enthusiasts and fans of the BBC Micro:Bit computer; young persons from 7 to 17 will be guided to build a simple electronic project or Morse transceiver using the BBC Micro:Bit.

This event is designed to introduce the young to amateur radio and electronics with your help, and showcase the fun we’ve enjoyed for years!

We need more radio amateur volunteers to join in the fun and help!
You could guide the building of a kit, or demonstrate aspects of amateur radio as questions arise. A VHF handie might be all that’s needed.

Each builder will be accompanied by a parent/caregiver, and a project will take about an hour to complete.

If any club member would like to volunteer to help, or know a young person that wants to join in and build a kit, then you should register interest no later than April 7th at  www.CQScotland.com
